James Leslie Wadman

“Big Wad”

February 28, 1945 ~ April 2, 2015

James Leslie Wadman was born February 28, 1945, in Kentfield, California. Preceded in death by Mom (Aileen Reed) and Dad (John L. Wadman) and sister Rachael.

Many years ago, Jim had to leave the things he loved and enjoyed: playing baseball, hunting and fishing, raising his St. Bernard puppies, and his favorite which he missed the most – golf. On April 2, 2015, he left someone that he loved above all else – Gail Toyn Wadman, his angel, his strength, and his bride of 27 years.

After a valiant fight with bladder cancer he left this earth to return to our Heavenly Father. May he join those who have gone before to be free; free of pain and free to do all the things he so enjoys.

Jim worked hard during his life, spending years working with his family in the construction business, spending 20 years at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic; and he also served his country in the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Conflict.

Know that we all love you, your sweet wife, Gail. Your sons, Jimmy (Marnie) Wadman, Jerry (Tina) Berchtold, Jim Berchtold, Joe (Shawna) Berchtold, and Jeff (Teri) Berchtold. Your daughters, Deanna (Mike) Reed and Jill Scott. Your brothers Jeff (Linda) Wadman, and Ben (Tamara) Wadman. Your sisters, Sue (Danny) Draper and Marlene Cox and all 20 grandchildren and 4 great grand-children. A special thanks to Dr. Seth Lewis; Dr. Tyler Christiansen; Tammy, Daniela, Miller, and Marnie from Encompass Hospice; and all the neighbors and ward members that brought so much cheer and service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday April 6, 2015 at the Pheasant Meadow Ward, 4770 South 4875 West, Roy. Friends and family may join us from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday April 5th at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Grouse Creek Cemetery.
