James Alvin Wilkerson

Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, James Alvin Wilkerson, 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Jim was born on May 28, 1933 to Eddie Lee and Eulee Belflower Wilkerson in Swainsboro, Georgia. He grew up in Georgia where he attended school and graduated from high school. Jim left Georgia at the age of 19, and joined the Air Force.

Jim married his best friend and sweetheart, Ellen Bernice Dickemore on April 20, 1957 at the HAFB Chapel. In 1962, Jim and Ellen moved to their present home in Farr West. They were able to celebrate 55 wonderful years together.

He worked in security and warehousing for the US Government at DDO. After his retirement, Jim really enjoyed working as school crossing guard for Farr West City.

Jim was proud of his knowledge of gardening, enjoyed photography and woodworking and loved to share his talent. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh, especially his grandchildren. We will miss you Dad and Grandpa.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ellen, Farr West; son, James A. (Shirlee) Wilkerson, Morgan; daughters, Pam (Boyd) Ferrin, Farr West; and Kelly (Rocky) Wright, Plain City; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ottis Wilkerson and sister, Sherby Johnson.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
