James "Jim" Phillip Wilcox
March 3, 1942 ~ December 19, 2014
James “Jim” Phillip Wilcox, passed away December 19, 2014 at his home after a long hard fight with cancer and COPD.
He was born March 3, 1942 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Phillip and Ethel Wilcox.
Jim moved to Utah when he was stationed at Hill Air Force with the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge he decided to stay in Utah.
In 1967, Jim married Claire Milligan. They have been happily married for 47 years. Jim and Claire had a son, Todd Andrew Wilcox, who was the light of Jim’s life. He was always proud of him. They were friends and companions and always there for each other.
Jim was a Mason of Corrine Lodge #5 in Corrine, Utah since 1977. For over 22 years he served as secretary and he was the Master in 1985. He received several special awards and honors from Corrine Lodge. He was truly dedicated to his lodge and brothers.
Jim worked at Luckie’s Auto Repair for “Lucky” Walter E. Bryant for many years, until Lucky retired. Jim and Kevin Bryant, Luckie’s son, went into a partnership to own the business. They added the motorcycle side to the business. When Jim “semi-retired”, he brought the motorcycle shop to our house, and it became “Luckie’s Cycle and Shop Supply”.
He had many interests in life and did them all with love and dedication. Early on Jim brought his race car here from Wisconsin, “The Pack Rat’, a dragster he raced at Bonneville Raceway.
He moved on to horses; riding, breeding and showing Quarter horses. He enjoyed raising and showing the babies. He made one horse an AQHA Champion. He also enjoyed trap-shooting and shot well over 100,000 targets.
In 1998, Jim brought home our first motorcycle. It has been his love and life ever since. He treasured riding and all the friends he had. His fondest memories were of special friends, customers and fun adventures.
He is survived by his wife Claire Wilcox, son Todd Wilcox, brothers, Paul (Virginia) Wilcox, Dave (Donna) Wilcox, sister, Kathy Wilcox, nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, and brother-in-law, Kevin Milligan of Ogden.
