On Friday, July 7, 2023, Jana Hatch Brown, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at age 62.
Jana was born June 16, 1961, in Provo, Utah to Jay and Ruth Hatch. She graduated from Provo High School in 1979. While in high school Jana participated in the school Drill team. She would share fond memories of those times when she performed with her friends. After high school, she attended nursing school at Weber State University, which led to a wonderful 40-year career at McKay Dee Hospital. While at Weber State she met the love of her life, Keith Glen Brown. Keith and Jana were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 19, 1981. Together they raised two beautiful children, Michael and Rachelle, while living in Ogden and then Clinton, Utah.
Jana always created the best memories for her family and took her children and grandchildren to see many beautiful places including, Hawaii, Alaska, Bahamas, Mexico, Caribbean, Nauvoo, Kirtland, and Palmyra, to name a few. One trip that will be missed was the annual summer trip to Mirror Lake in the High Uinta Mts. Jana always made sure her family knew without a doubt they were her most important priority and she made memories with them that will last forever.
Her family always loved watching AFV with her because her laughter was contagious. Her laughter was missed terribly, especially near the end, but we all can’t wait to hear it again soon when we will be reunited with her.
Jana held many callings in her church; her favorite was Primary Pianist. She served as pianist for many, many years and loved being able to teach the gospel to the children in her ward through the Primary Hymns. Her favorite Primary Hymn was Nephi’s Courage, which is fitting given the incredible courage she displayed throughout her life serving and loving others despite many health challenges. Jana will always be remembered and revered for her dedication to God and instilling her faith in her family.
Jana is survived by her husband, Keith; her children and spouses, Michael (Melanie) and Rachelle (Matt); her 8 grandchildren, Brecklynn, Tyson, Abby, Austin, Carter, Kenzie, Hadlee, and Bennett who are her pride and joy; her sisters, Jeri, Jill, and Lisa; and her mother-in-law, Barbara. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Ruth, and father-in-law, Jack.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 2223 N. 1000 W. Clinton, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah and again prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Services will be live streamed and available by scrolling to the bottom of Jana’s obituary page at www.lindquistmortuary.com, where condolences may also be shared.
Jana and her family give their sincere thanks to the countless healthcare professionals who gave her such wonderful care in the later years of her life. Your compassion and kindness have made all the difference.
Jana always loved being together with her family. The Sunday dinners and special occasions were so important to her, where she was sure to make wonderful memories, especially with her grandkids. In lieu of flowers, please honor Jana by taking the ones you love to dinner and make your own memories.
Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
