Janae Moorhead Smith, 64, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with diabetes.
She was born November 9, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Sherman Ellsworth and Maxine Oram Moorhead.
On January 10, 1964 Janae married Richard James Smith in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Janae served as Relief Society Secretary, Homemaking Leader and Primary teacher.
She also served in the PTA. She enjoyed ceramics, cross stitch, crocheting, reading and camping. Janae especially loved spending time with her family, excelling in family leadership. She was the teacher, accountant, psychologist, doctor, nurse; in other words she was a dedicated wife and mother. We look forward to the day when we will bask in her sunshine again. Janae is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, David Sherman (Michelle) Smith, Perry; Craig Howard Smith, Sunset; Leisa Kay (Doug) Sandoz, O''Fallon, MO; Kristy Lynn (Dan) Putnam, Layton; ten grandchildren; and four sisters, Elaine (Garth) Douglas, Hooper; Karen (Roger) Gillman, Clinton; Shirley (Von) Barfuss, Tremonton; and Gaylene (Richard) Jensen, Littleton, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
