Jane Olsen Hamblen
5/3/1936 ~ 2/11/2014
On the morning of February 11, 2014, the goodness of heaven increased when Jane Olsen Hamblen completed her earthly mission.
She was born in Iona, Idaho on May 3, 1936 to Henry LaVod and Maggie Margaret Bateman Olsen. She graduated from Bonneville High School in Iona.
On September 9, 1959 she married Ronald Curto Hamblen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Jane shared a special bond and love with her sweet mother-in-law, who supported her from the other side of the veil when she faced her first major health issue. She faced difficult health challenges with grace and thoughtfulness, never complaining.
She spent her professional career in the banking and credit union business, retiring from America First Credit Union.
Her most cherished roles in life were that of wife, mother, grandmother, and since June 2013, as grandma-great.
Jane was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was never comfortable behind a pulpit, but she taught the most important lessons through her kindness, courage, and strength.
Jane is survived by her eternal companion, who took such loving care of her these last 18 years; her children, Michael, Denise, and Kris (Lenny) Janson; and the lights of her life, Alex (Teisha), KeiLee (Chase) and her sweet Skyliee. She is also survived by her sister, Carol (John) Steele; and her brothers, Roy and Gordon. She was joyfully reunited with her parents, whom she missed dearly, and many family members, including a baby sister whom she met for the first time on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Riverdale 1st/7th Ward Chapel, 1056 West 4400 South. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to the many health care providers who helped her defy the odds so many times. We are especially grateful for Doctors Archibald, Alder, Call, Senekjian, and Agarwal and the staff at Bonneville Dialysis Center.
