OGDEN a€" A Grand Lady passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mom was born July 21, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Luman and Mabel Charlesworth Shurtliff.

She attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1938 and from the Dee Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1941.

Jane married Dean F. Morrin on May 17, 1941. They were married for over 64 years until Dean passed away September 4, 2005.

She had a busy life raising six children, helping Dean establish his business as a general contractor and being active in the P.T.A., church and family activities.

When her children were older she started doing volunteer work for the Red Cross as a nurse in their blood program. She also was active in the Y.W.C.A. (now Y.C.C.) on the Board of Directors and President for one year. Jane was supportive of Weber State University and a sponsor of two perpetual scholarships.

Jane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her home and visiting teachers.

She enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, boating, fishing, hunting, and summers spent at their cabin in South Fork. She and Dean enjoyed their travels all over the world and most of the United States. For many years they spent their winters in Palm Springs and St. George where they enjoyed golfing and being with many friends. Jane was a member of the Ladies Association at the Ogden Golf and Country Club, and the Aglaia Club.

Surviving are her five children, Dick (Mikki) Morrin, Sue (Vern) Carter, Kathy (Jerry) Opheikens, Mary (Pat) Dabling, Jill (Mike) Williams, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Dean, son James Edward, parents, three sisters and one brother.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Utah, Brett and Maggie. Also Jeannie and Kenzi for their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice.
