Jane Elizabeth Vidinhar
Jane Elizabeth Vidinhar was born on August 19, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Mary Julia Freitas and Edward Antonio Vidinhar.
She became deaf as the result of an illness at the age of two. Jane attended the Diamond Head School for the Deaf in Honolulu, Hawaii through the 6th grade.
Jane was employed at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard as a warehouse stocker and in the laundry. After her retirement, she worked part time at the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
In earlier years, Jane enjoyed genealogy, travel, and dancing. More recently she enjoyed visiting with others, reading, and watching Utah Jazz games.
Jane was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended the Salt Lake Valley Deaf 1st Ward and acknowledged her faith in and dependence on God often.
Jane passed away on June 17, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living where she lived the past many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane and a son, Robert Vidinhar. She was the oldest, and only sister to six brothers, Edward Pereira, Jr., Antonio Pereira, Lawrence Pereira-Vidinha, Joseph Vidinha, Raymond Vidinhar and Stanley Vidinhar.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N.400 E. where friends and family may visit from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment Lindquist’s Memorial Park Layton.
