Janeal Marchant
OGDEN - Cora Janeal Marchant, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008, surrounded by loved ones, in Ogden.
She was born on July 3, 1943 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Glen Gilbert and Esther Green of Menan, ID. She graduated from Rigby High School, and later served in the West Mexico Mission.
Janeal married Albert Kay Marchant on August 4, 1971, in the Idaho Falls Temple and settled in Ogden, Utah, where she lived the remainder of her life. She served as the ward chorister, Relief Society president, Primary president, and organist along with several other church callings and had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She retired from the IRS after 21 years of service.
She was a devoted wife, a compassionate mother, and an enthusiastic grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Kay, of Ogden; children: Brady (Desiree) Marchant of Surprise, AZ; Lara (Hal) Hadfield of Brigham City; Tami (Andrew) Gibby of Ogden; Terri (Chad) Bendixsen of Ogden; brother, Blaine (Irma) Green; sisters, Sheila (Delwin) Lowder and Mickie (Carl) Lundholm; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 7th Ward Chapel, 4800 South 300 West, with Bishop Dwight Henderson officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
