Janelle La Rae Benshoof

It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of our daughter, Janelle La Rae Benshoof, 37. Janelle passed in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Janelle was born on December 31, 1987, at Hill Air Base Hospital, Utah to Raymond and Jennifer (Hoff) Benshoof. Janelle lived and grew up in Euless, Texas, Newnan, Georgia, Clinton and Layton, Utah. She attended Northridge High School and graduated in 2006. Janelle worked for America First Credit Union until February 2025, when she could no longer work due to health reasons.

Janelle played the violin and enjoyed the peace it brought to others and herself. One of the highlights of this was a trip to San Francisco where she played in an Orchestra Competition.

Janelle loved and cherished her beautiful eight-year-old daughter, Raelynn Jade. She was the light of her life and her greatest joy and accomplishment.

Janelle loved spending time with her family. Family was everything to Janelle. She loved the frequent trips to spend a week in the Grand Tetons National Park, camping with her family. Janelle enjoyed music and nature and loved all dogs, especially the families’ long-haired dachshunds. Janelle had the most contagious, infectious laugh and people were drawn to her because of it. During one chemo session, she was laughing, and one of the patients remarked, “I want what she is having!” Janelle always brought a smile to one’s face. She was a delight to be around. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Janelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Mildred (Zado) Benshoof and Elwin and Betty (Hasty) Hoff.

Janelle is survived by her parents, Raymond and Jennifer Benshoof, of Layton, Utah, two brothers, Matthew and Seria (Harrelson) Benshoof of Kaysville, Utah, Michael Benshoof, of Ogden, Utah and one sister, Abigail Benshoof, of Utah and her daughter Raelynn Jade of Layton, Utah.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
