Janet Lee Barney

Janet Lee Barney, 85, passed away on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at Abbington Senior Living in Layton, Utah. She was born August 12, 1938 in Doty, Washington to Joseph Arnold and Eula Lee Shepherd Rhoades. Janet lived in Washington, California and Utah.

She married Everett Bert Barney, Jr. on July 24, 1959 in San Diego, California. They are parents of six children.

Janet was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she gave countless hours of service. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in all of her callings with might, mind, and strength. She worked and served in the Logan, Utah temple and it brought her and her family numerous blessings.

Janet loved her family fiercely. She will be remembered as a mother who would walk through fire for all of her children. She will be greatly missed by her family but they all know she is where she needs to be, surrounded by her heavenly family.

She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, gardening, and traveling.

Janet is survived by her husband Everett B. Barney Jr., and her six children; Lisa (Ed) Jinks , Linda (Glen) Pickett, Leslie (David) Barrett, Liana Rogers, Liberty (Jeff) Erickson, and Everett B. Barney III; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Carol and Shirley.

 A memorial service will be held in Napa, California at a later date.
