Janet Hansen Lawrence passed swiftly away late Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2016, thus ending a lengthy affliction with heart and lung diseases, dying of natural causes. She died a month short of her 83rd birthday. Delivered by a midwife at her Mother’s family home in Springville, Utah May 11, 1933, she was the second child of Mark J and Caroline A Hansen.

The Hansen’s owned an 80 acre farm in Palmyra, Utah. That home loomed large in Moms upbringing as well as in the rearing of her own children. It fostered her love of gardening and was her homestead for a large and loving family. She very often said 'you can take the girl off the farm, but not the farm out of the girl.'

During the summer of 1951, she met Provo native, Larry C Lawrence, and married him. Before they turned 30, they had 5 sons and 2 daughters. Larry and her family were everything to her. She was devoted to Church, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a choir member and served in her Relief Society Presidency. Her faith led to a solemnized marriage to Larry in the Salt Lake Temple in 1980.

She was preceded in death by her husband Larry, parents, son Michael, grandson Jared, brother Duane, sister Irene, and son-in-law Kris Bond. Sons Mark, Steve (Karen), Cliff (Amy), Jeff (Brenda), daughters Lori Jan, Susan (Greg), Mikes widow Sue, 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren survive her. Brother George A Hansen (Nancy), sisters Phyllis Ashton, Carolyn Johnson, Laura Carter and their families all survive as well.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Bountiful 11th Ward Chapel,  115 Wicker Lane.  Friends may visit family Friday, April 15th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 12:30-1:30pm at the church prior to services.
