Janet Richens 1936-2013

Janet Richens, 76, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born November 10, 1936 in Murray, Utah the daughter of Marvin LaMont and Freeda Hair Richens. Married Mel Ellis, later divorced. Married Russ Kakala and later divorced.

Janet was a beautician. She and her sisters opened a beauty salon together and continued working for more than fifty years, up until her passing. She loved movies, country music, dancing and trips to Wendover, but above all, her greatest joy was her family!

Janet is survived by her children Mitchell (Jeune) Ellis, Randy (Dena) Ellis,Tracy Ellis, Russ (Tara) Kakala, Debby (G) Deguzman, Lisa (Jay) Simon, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, brother Floyde Richens, sisters Karolee Richens, Joyce (Jim) Rose, DiAnn (Dan) Bradshaw, and Peggy (Bill) Long. Also survived by adopted sons Seanoa Lavatai and Troy Johnson. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ron and Jim Richens.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 pm and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
