Janet Vickers Smith, 78, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at McKay-Dee Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1937 in Nephi, Utah to Harold and Opal Johansen Vickers.

On September 29, 1956, Janet married J.P. Smith in Clearfield, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in various callings.

Janet was a member of the Good Sam Club. She enjoyed camping, traveling with her husband, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was very supportive of them in their activities.

Janet is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.P.; their children, Jeff Smith, Clearfield; Janice (Lyndal Fitzgerald) Condo, Manassas, VA; Vickie (Kelly) Kent, West Haven; Michelle (Tonya) Smith, Hooper; eight grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Matthew, Jessica, Jason, Bryan, Melanee, Max; five great-grandchildren; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Vern.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West.
