Janet Diane Smits

LAYTON – Janet Diane Smits, 80, passed away January 5, 2017.

She was born October 10, 1936 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Willard and Pearl Howes Atkinson.

Diane married Elvin Ted Smits on December 28, 1988 in Sunnyvale, California.

She worked at Snowbird as an accountant for many years.

Diane was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Diane loved her dogs. She enjoyed yard work and cooking.

Surviving are her children, Frank (Ruth) Gonzales, WA; Ron (Rachel) Gonzales, ID; Michael Gonzales, CA; Stephen (Tiffany) Bergen II, UT, nine grandchildren, Frank, Sarah, Ron, David, Johnathan, Nichole, Brandy, Stephen III and Samantha.

Preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Forest Park Ward, 2250 N. 2200 E., Layton.  Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
