October 22, 1953 ~ November 3, 2012

SALT LAKE CITY a€" Janice Hinton Adams, age 59, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister returned to her Heavenly Father on November 3, 2012.

Janice was born October 22, 1953, in Pasadena, CA; to Delmer and Juanita Brooksby Hinton. She was raised in Duarte, CA.

Janice married Mark Gary Adams, December 15, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah where they were sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Janice and Mark lived in Salt Lake City, Kearns and Murray, UT; Vancouver, WA; and finally Kaysville, UT; during their 34 years of life together.

She was a valiant and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a missionary in the Uruguay/Paraguay Mission. She took many opportunities for church service such as President and in Presidencies of the Primary, Young Women''s, and Relief Society on both the Ward and Stake level. She was a long time Cub Scout leader and worked for many years to help boys reach the rank of Eagle Scout. She was a long term advocate of adoption so she and Mark served together for several years as the National Chairmen of LDS Families Supporting Adoption which is a national organization designed to help birth mothers and adoptive couples.

She received a bachelor''s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University, which she used to teach school in several school districts in Utah and Washington as well as the LDS church''s seminary program. Her greatest love was serving and teaching others. Janice especially loved to open her home to provide comfort and shelter to those dealing with personal issues. Many foster children passed through her hands where she provided love and support, helped deliver babies and even sponsored weddings in her home.

Janice loved to read and write including the completion of several novels. She was an avid knitter and quilter, a fine cook and loved to help in her yard and garden, especially with her roses. She was always extremely focused at continual learning and self improvement. Her happiest days were those as a homemaker, wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Mark, children: Andrew Thomas (Alisha) Adams, Rebecca Suzanne (Benjamin) Brown, one new granddaughter, Hazle Brown. She is also survived by her father, Delmer Hinton, sisters, Evelyn (Walter) Ames, Charlene (Randall) Brumfield, Karen Lyons, and brothers, Gary (Marlene) Hinton and Eric (Melissa) Hinton.

She was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Brooksby Hinton.

The family wishes to express thanks for the love and efforts of LDS Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, the Avalon in Bountiful, the Wentworth in East Millcreek, Pine Mountain Health, and friends and neighbors in Kaysville for their service and care.
