Janice G. Coleman Hoskins

April 5, 1936 ~ March 20, 2015

On the first day of Spring, Janice Gayle Coleman Hoskins “Big Red”, slipped away with her usual flare.  It couldn’t have been a more fitting time, since Janice loved being in her yard and seeing the first signs of Spring.  Janice was first and foremost a protective mother and grandmother.  She was a lover of animals and truly a force a nature.  She loved puttering in her yard, planting flowers, watching the quail, and care for her cat, Itsy.

Janice was born in Paxton, Nebraska, on April 5, 1936 to Albert E. and Gladys H. Wamsley Coleman.  In 1942 her family settled in Ogden, Utah where Janice later married and raised four children.

Janice retired from a successful career at Hill A.F.B., in 1999, and went on to enjoy her family and flower garden and growing raspberries for everyone to enjoy.

Janice is survived by her children, Jeff (Tina) Hoskins, Riverdale; Mark (Sally) Hoskins, Lafayette, Louisiana; Lisa (Carl) Bayard, Plain City; and Brad (Dana) Hoskins, North Ogden; her sister, Lynda Goff as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers, Alan and Paul Coleman; beloved Uncle Raymond H. Coleman; and grandson, Tyler Ray Hoskins.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the A.S.P.C.A. or your favorite animal shelter would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to all of our neighbors for their sympathy and support.

As per Janice’s usual contrary sense of humor, services were held yesterday, Saturday, March 28, 2015 with a small group of family and friends, directed by Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
