It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow we announce the passing of the sweetest and kindest lady, Janice Buckley, who left this world to join the ranks of heavenly angels on December 23, 2024. Janice fought a brave and inspiring battle against cancer, facing each challenge with grace, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Her strength during this difficult journey taught us all the true meaning of courage and hope. Even in her toughest moments, Janice continued to uplift those around her with her infectious smile and generous heart.
Janice was born on June 2, 1958, in Ogden, Utah, and raised in Hooper. She graduated from Roy High School in 1976. Throughout her life, Janice touched the hearts of many. She had a passion for sewing, she could sew just about anything from simple handkerchiefs to wedding dresses. Everything she created was beautiful and elegant and will stand the test of time. We will keep and treasure these mementos with a grateful heart knowing her hands created them. Janice loved the mountains, spending many summers camping with family at Browning Lake and visiting Yellowstone or just going for a drive through the mountains and getting lost along the way. Jany loved the color purple, anytime we see purple we will always think of her. She had recently developed a love of Celtic music and was overjoyed when she was able to attend a live concert and meet one of the artists.
Janice was a seamstress at Catalina and Autoliv for many years, until their closures. Her craftsmanship and dedication to every piece she created were evident and she took pride in her work, leaving a lasting impression on friends and colleagues. She then went to Wal-Mart, where she was a cashier until her cancer took its toll on her and she retired to care for herself and her son. She dedicated herself to her son, Nicholas, he was her greatest love and joy. Nicholas lovingly cared for his mother during the final years of her life.
Janice is survived by her son, Nicholas Buckley; her sister, Kathleen (Mark) Sanders; and her brother, Micheal Buckley (Christine). Janice had many nieces and nephews, who she treated like her own, she was our Aunt Jany and we will never forget the memories she was an integral part of. She had many cousins who she loved spending time with while barbecuing, making homemade ice cream and root beer, and celebrating holidays together. We will forever hold our memories close to our hearts in joy and gratitude. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Aften Buckley, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Hooper City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
Rest in paradise, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Your spirit will remain alive in our hearts, guiding us with love, light, and joy.
