Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend, Janice Horspool Kester, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 12, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She fought hard for six months with the love and support of her family and many close friends.
Jan was born May 22, 1955 in Ogden, Utah to Jay and Judy Horspool. She married her best friend, Ron Kester, May 25, 1979 in Evanston, Wyoming. Together they had two wonderful children, Amy and Travis.
She had a long career at Hill Air Force Base, which she loved, and where she formed many lasting friendships. She spent the last few years of her career as the Deputy Director of the 574th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, where she received many awards for outstanding service.
Jan loved spending time with family and friends. She had a special bond with her granddaughter, Camree, and loved her very much. She was an avid golfer and especially loved golfing with her husband, brother, and son. She also enjoyed camping, her annual trips on the bus to Wendover with all the girls from work, annual girl''s night out with her sisters and nieces, and weekend trips to Salt Lake City with her best friends, Phyllis, Val and Arla.
She loved people and treasured each friend she made along her way, taking care to keep her friendships alive and ever widening her circle of love. She touched so many lives and became a friend to everyone she met. Jan was our little mother hen, always making sure everyone and everything was taken care of. She was close to all her family and devoted her greatest love and service to her husband, children and granddaughter. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
We would like to thank Doctors Vincent Hansen and Brent Williams and staff. We would also like to thank her many special friends, too many to name individually, for their love and support during these past six months.
Jan is survived by her husband, Ron; two children, Amy (Jordan) Johnstun, Travis Kester; granddaughter, Camree; three step-children, Shane Kester, Jacque Fernandes, Tracy Temple; two brothers, Paul Horspool, Rick Horspool, and two sisters, Lori Oliver and Cristie Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
We will forever remember her and smile!
