Janice Peterson Meredith

June 17, 1923 ~ June 11, 2015

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Janice P. Meredith, passed away six days shy of her 92 ^nd birthday.  Janice was the daughter of Orlando and Lillian Peterson, born on June 17, 1923 in Brigham City, Utah.  Janice  was educated in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School.

Janice married her sweetheart, John Henry Meredith, on February 16, 1946 in Salt Lake City, UT.  They celebrated 53 years together before John’s passing on January 2, 1999.  Janice was a loving caregiver to her husband John in his declining years.

She loved to shop and redecorate her home over and over again.  She also enjoyed yard work. Janice had a quick wit.  You always knew where you stood because she wouldn’t sugar coat it.

Janice is survived by her son, Todd Meredith; daughters, Diane Pollett (Mike Metcalf) and Lisa (Brent) Shafer; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Hal Peterson; and sister, Sidney Cullis.  She was preceded in death by her husband and granddaughter, Michelle.

Family would like to express their gratitude to Mt. Ridge Assisted Living, Hospice for Utah, and Dr. Gary Holland for the loving care of our mother.

Services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
