LAYTON a€" Janice W. Renie, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Chancellor Gardens.

Janice was born June 3, 1921 to Daly and Willie Halford. She married Earl E. Renie on December 24, 1940 in Hoxie Arkansas. She and Earl, who was in the United States Air Force, lived in Arkansas, Illinois, Georgia, Florida and Germany before settling in Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed needlework and cooking.

Janice is survived by her sister Rosa Turner, Batesville, AR; daughter Barbara (Vance) Mitchell, Fairfax, VA; sons Robert (Debra) Renie, Kaysville, UT; Joe (Vanessa) Renie, Gig Harbor, WA; and Richard (Tammy) Renie, Winterpark, FL; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Earl, and her grandson Todd.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
