Janice (Janeece) Lynn Belnap Garrett
February 7, 1956 ~ April 22, 2018
Janice (Janeece) Lynn Belnap Garrett, 62, passed away on Sunday the 22nd of April, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Ogden, UT, the daughter of Max Gilbert and Ora Jean Heslop Belnap. Janice attended Weber State College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, she taught at Riverdale Elementary School for two years until the arrival of her first child. For the remaining years of her life she devoted her time and energy into raising and loving her children.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing the guitar and piano, singing, writing poems and songs and even published a few of them. Early in adulthood she was overcome with an incapacitating illness. Janice will be remembered for her compassion for others. She was kind to those she met. Janice loved to help others and wanted to whenever given the opportunity. Her laugh was infectious and radiated the room. Above all the wonderful things Janice was, she will always be remembered for her loving hands. No matter what she did, whether it was sewing clothes or toys for her daughters, playing or creating music, or giving hugs, her actions were led by love.
She is survived by four daughters; Teresa Lynn (Michael) Baldwin, TX; Christina “Tina” Ann Garrett, AZ; Jeanene Renee (Rich) Holley, AZ; and Jessica Lynn (Colin) Gibbons, AZ; six grandchildren, Alyssa Michelle Baldwin, Elizabeth Ann Holley, Abilyn Rea Holley, Olivia Grace Holley, Ethan Garrett Holley, and Zachary Allen Holley; five siblings: Karen Jean (Mark) Clarke, Beverly Ann Johnson, Valene Kaye (“Bob”) Terry, Douglas Max (Julie Bingham) Belnap, and Gregory “Greg” John Belnap. Lastly, her eternal companion, Allen Steve Garrett. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Hooper City Cemetery, 5340 S 6300 W. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Flowers may be sent to the mortuary.
