Janie Lorraine Petersen

Janie Lorraine Petersen, 65, of Woods Cross returned to her Heavenly Father’s arms on February 14, 2020.

Janie was born on February 19, 1954 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Scott and Phyllis Lawrence. She married her husband and best friend Carey Petersen on September 29, 1972.

She is survived by her husband Carey Petersen, her son Travis (Lee) Petersen, her three grandchildren Logan, Cheyanne, and Brouan, her father Scott Lawrence, her sister Joan (Paul) Holmes and her brother Kenny Lawrence. She is preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Lawrence.

Janie was a kind person with a heart of gold. She was always quick to offer help to anyone who needed it. She loved camping in her early years with her family in Salina, Utah and had a passion for designing graphics and web sites for fun. Her calendars were always a hit and her friends and family looked forward to receiving them.

She had a special love of cooking and created a recipe web site and shared it with the world. Above all Janie’s favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren.

At Janie’s request no services will be held.  A special thanks to the nursing staff at Lakeview Hospital ICU for being so wonderful to her and her family at this difficult time. Care entrusted to Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.

Janie’s greatest joy and accomplishment was being a wonderful mother and has dedicated this poem to her son:

Not flesh of my flesh,

Nor bone of my bone,

But still miraculously my own.

Never forget for a single minute,

You didn’t grow under my heart…

But in it.
