Janis Rae Curtis

"Together Again" Janis Rae Amussen Falck Curtis, a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, left this life on Monday, October 7, 2013, at the age of 86. Janis was born on June 10, 1927, in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Louis Kuni and Eleanora Amussen Falck. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Utah State University. While attending Utah State, she met her love and best friend, John Keith Curtis, and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 10, 1948. Together, they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage, supporting, teaching and nurturing seven children and twenty-six grandchildren. Janis’ life was spent in devotion to family and friends. She worked as a homemaker and was exceptionally talented in needlework and sewing. She retired after twenty-five years of employment at the IRS. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She is especially appreciated for delicious Sunday dinners, celebrated toffee, countless hours spent canning fruits and vegetables for family members, consistent encouragement of family traditions, a love of sports, a listening ear, a feisty sense of humor, a love of chocolate, and unwavering dedication to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Janis is survived by her children, Jackie Curtis, Judie (Monte) Wheeler, Janet (Norm) Newbold, J. Stephen (RaeLynn) Curtis, Jim (Brenda) Curtis, Jill (Darren) Adamson, and Jeff (Kristi) Curtis; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and her brothers, Louis Kuni Falck, Jr., and R. Michael Falck. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Canyon Hollows Ward, 1550 Rushton, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
