Jarin Birch

Jarin Rex Birch left us unexpectedly on October 31, 2015.  He was born the second son of Scott Shawn Birch and Dani Barber Birch on April 12, 1990.

He grew up in Syracuse, Utah attending Syracuse Jr. High and Clearfield High School.  As a child, he spent lots of time with his Great-Grandma Delsa and Great-Grandpa Rex, who was a huge influence on Jar. He joined his big brother Dillon for many childhood antics, family camping trips, rafting the Green River, and a series of broken bones doing what boys do.

Jarin was no stranger to scrapes, bruises, or injuries with his trampoline stunts or his high-speed longboarding straight down steep hills.  We are sure U of U police still watch for him and his friends on their streets.

Jarin had a deep philosophical mind and could talk for hours about the different subjects he loved.  He had a love for nature and not only enjoyed hunting and fishing all his years, but truly being in the mountains.  We are sure he could probably out survive Bear Grylls any day!  He was so excited when he was "of age" to attend the annual Montana Open fishing trip with his dad, brother, uncles and Grandpa Kim Barber.   He could catch some “big ones” just like the ole' timers. Jarin also loved creepy crawlers and tended to his Chilean tarantula, Rosa.

Jarin had a tight pact of friends who could bring a vibrant personality out of the more common, shy man he tended to be.  He enjoyed hanging out with all of you, riding the dunes, listening to music, camping, and restoring the old Chevy truck.   Doc loved all of you and cherished each friendship.

Jarin excelled at his job as lead machinist with Lean Solutions and was very loyal to his boss, his Uncle Eric Satterthwaite, for teaching him a trade and believing in him.  He was excited as he tutored to advance to Engineer/Programmer.  Several of his programs are being used in the shop along with standardized work instructions he took lead on.  He led other employees, assisting them, and was on the path for many advancements.  The floor will surely be quieter without Jarin's whistle and contagious laugh.  He had great bonds with all his co-workers who were great friends as well.

In 2009 Jarin gained three sisters when his dad married Beth Campbell of South Ogden.  Madison, Reilly, and Emmalee started calling him “big brother” and the bond was born.  He taught trampoline tricks to them, introduced them to longboards, dared them to jump off pee rock, and was their #1 protector.  They loved their Jar and always felt it was a "win" if they got him to talk or sing in his “MAN” voice!  Little did Jarin know that his burp contests, eating splurges, and anything else gross that he challenged them to were taken on three-fold.

Jarin received another sister when his brother Dillon married Shay'La Fifield.  Jarin loved hanging out with them and their four-legged kids and loved being welcomed so warmly at all of the Fifield gatherings.

Jarin is survived by his father, Scott and wife, Beth Birch, sisters Madison, Reilly, and Emmi Campbell, his brother Dillon and wife Shay'La, Grandparents Kim & Sherry Barber, Dana & Wayne Austin, Connie & Dennis Jensen, Donna Onstott Birch, along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents including the (Beth) Koenig family.  He leaves Great-Grandpa Lue Birch and Great-Grandma Elsie Fuhriman to miss him, as well.

He was preceded in death and will be greeted by his mother, Dani Barber Birch, Great Grandparents Delsa & Rex Barber, Great-Grandma Lucille Birch, and just recently his Grandpa Gary Birch. We are sure he is thrilled to be with his dog Kramer, "the Merf," and he is probably preparing Daggett to hunt ducks soon!

Funeral services for Jarin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
