Jason Alan Stratton
Born October 14, 1979 - Died July 8,2017

He is survived by Daughter Elisa Jaden Stratton, parents Clayton Alan and Colette Stratton, Cindy and Dave Velasquez, siblings Heidi and Casey Anderson, Jessie and Kevin Fyans and Ginger and Kevin Welsh.

Jason was born in Ogden, Utah to Alan and Cindy October 14, 1979. He was a funny and rambunctious child always on the go.

He graduated from Weber Basin Job Corps and even became Class President. He made many lifelong friends with his big laugh and happy attitude. After he graduated he joined the U.S. Navy. He had so much pride about serving those 5 years.  During his enlistment Jason received a National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and was Sailor of the Year.

Jason was so humble that many of us never knew he received these. He often told me this was the best time of his life. After the Navy Jason moved back to Utah with his new little addition and biggest part of his heart, Elisa Jaden Stratton. Elisa (LeLe) was Jason's little sidekick. They were best friends. He had been raising Elisa alone as a single father for the last ten years up until the day he passed. Raising Elisa was Jason's most important treasure. He loved to brag about all her accomplishments and truly enjoyed being a Daddy.

Jason became employed at Hill Air Force Base and was an electrician and mechanic on the C 130's. Hangar 225 was more than a job, he thought of you all as another family not just a job. Our family wants to give a big Thanks to all of you. Jason was literally larger than life!

There is no way to shrink him down to this small tribute! He was the life of the party, the call if you need something, a helper on a broken car or even the shirt off his back. He literally was the truest of the true and was a kind and gentle giant.

He loved gaming, the mountains, hunting, fishing and beer, around a roaring fire listening to Alice In Chains or some Motley Crue.

He was a wonderful son, a doting father, a true friend and a beloved brother not only to me but to so many. There are no words to say how much we will miss you!

Fly high and watch over us all in heaven.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Monday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
