Jay Harold Arbon
March 3, 1940 ~ January 23, 2019
Jay Harold Arbon valiantly endured his test of Parkinson’s disease and passed away on January 23, 2019 in Pleasant View, Utah. He was born March 3, 1940 in Brigham City, the son of Harold Jesse Arbon and Pearl Smith Arbon. Jay graduated from Box Elder High School in 1958 where he competed in varsity football, basketball, and track.
During his Senior year, he was the Student Body President. Jay continued his education at Weber State College where he played football, graduating in 1965. In the same year, he married his sweetheart Sherlene West. He also served in the Utah National Guard for eight years.
After working at the Clearfield Job Corp., Jay worked the remainder of his career for Smith’s Food and Drug. He faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also served with his spouse for eighteen months in the Fiji, Suva Mission and five years at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.
In life, Jay put God and his Savior Jesus Christ first, his family and others second, and himself last. He was very supportive of his spouse, sons, and grandchildren. He was the very best husband, father, and grandfather any one could ask for.
Jay is survived by his wife, Sherlene Arbon; three sons, Brett (Chris), Jason (Laura), and Ryan (Kerri); and thirteen grandchildren, Jantz (Erika), Johnni, Walker, MaeLeah, Kai, Kael, Rachel, Adelle, Jet, Rylee, Jaycee, Jake, and Katelyn.
