“Together Again”
Jay B. Ewing, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2014. He was born on August 26, 1925 in Smithfield, the son of William B. and Mary Eliza Humphreys Ewing.
He joined the US Navy in December of 1943 and served as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class.
He married Vivian Torman on February 9, 1946. Jay and Vivian spent 66 wonderful years together until Vivian’s passing in November of 2012.
Jay worked as a foreman for WR White Pipe Company until his retirement.
He loved being in the outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting. Some of his favorite times were spent at the Eagles Family Meadows with his family and friends. Jay and Vivian enjoyed spending time in Yuma, AZ with their friends. He liked to watch the Jazz play. He was a member of the Ogden Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 40 years.
Jay is survived by his son, Ronald (Kim) Ewing, Ogden; daughters, Kristine (Frank) Brown, and Pamela (Dale) Sparkman; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
