John Jay Frew, 83, passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 at Heritage Park Care Center.
He was born January 10, 1925 in Hooper, Utah to Cecil and Gladys Rosalie Lundahl Frew.
Jay served in the United States Marines during World War II.
He was married to Charlene Bauman and they later divorced. On November 18, 1984, Jay married LaRae Johnson in Hooper.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as a Boy Scout leader.
He enjoyed rock hounding, gardening, fishing and hunting. He loved to joke and tease. As a life long resident of Hooper, he knew everyone and everyone one he knew loved him.
Jay is survived by his wife, LaRae; a son, Kenny Jay Frew, Houston, TX; three daughters, Jalene Kraft, Plain City; DeAnn Frew, Fremont, CA; Marilee Gentry, Hyrum; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, LaMar Frew, Tucson, AZ; and a sister, Beth Hull, Hooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Klea Myers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hooper 1st Ward Chapel, 5601 South 6100 West.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
