Jay Lorenzo Hadley, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his home.

He was born November 8, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Lorenzo Albert and Letha Manning Hadley. He was raised and educated in Ogden.

On November 18, 1949, Jay married Elda Charlton in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jay retired after many years as the Weber County Golden Spike Manager. He was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), Wasatch Slopes Chariot Association, American Quarter Horse Association and Producer Livestock Association.

He enjoyed horses, rodeos, horse racing, hunting and especially spending time with his family.

Jay is survived by his wife, Elda, Taylor; one son, Lex (Joetta) Hadley, Hooper; two daughters, Leah (Travis) Stimpson, Farr West; Lynette (Larry) Sanders, West Haven; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Blaine Hadley and Monty Hadley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lonnie Hadley, one grandson, Jayke Hadley, one sister, Gloria Favero and two brothers, Harold Hadley and Dean Hadley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
