CLINTON – Jay Stone, 61, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014.

He was born May 2, 1953 in Ogden, Utah the son of Fred Jay and Beverly Jean Larsen Stone.

Jay married Renee Lee Francis.  They had three children and were later divorced.  He married Christy Lee Goddard on September 12, 2003 at HAFB.

He worked at HAFB as an Aircraft Mechanic/Painter and retired in 2012 after 28 years of service.

Jay loved gardening, video games, their beloved dogs, yard work and yard sales, there was always a treasure to be found.  He was a great handyman and was always willing to share his talents.

Surviving are his wife Christy, children: Heather (Zach) Stone, Heidie Stone, Jeremy (Ashley) Stone, Eric (Ashley) Thurgood, Rachel (Kerry) Layton, Clint Brangal, grandchildren, Krissa, Kaden, JayLynn, Gunner, Jackson, Gracie, Lexi, Sydney, Cole, Brayden, sisters, Charlotte Stone and Claudia Hardman.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Randy Stone and grandparents, Thomas and Esther Larsen and Fred and Arita Stone.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
