Jaydon Dean Rogers

March 9, 1996 – March 14, 2018

Jaydon Dean Rogers passed away unexpectedly at Ogden Regional Medical Center on March 14, 2018, just five short days after celebrating his 22nd birthday.

He was born in Ogden on March 9, 1996 to Ryan David Rogers and Misti Jean (Birt) Rogers. He grew up in Roy and West Haven.

Jaydon truly was the BEST. Being his parents was a privilege and spoiling him was always our honor.

Jaydon graduated from Fremont High School in 2014, and then attended Western Wyoming Community College on a wrestling scholarship. He placed 1st in the 2014 5A State Wrestling Championship while at Fremont and also placed in the two previous State Championships. Jaydon was a Junior College All American wrestler while at WWCC. He also had numerous other awards throughout his years of wrestling.

Since returning home from college Jaydon had been an assistant wrestling coach at Fremont High and was employed with YHA (Youth Health Associates), Stepping Stones as a Direct Care Staff Member. Jaydon (Jaydo, Jay, J-Rog, or JD as his friends and family called him) lived life to the fullest. He did everything 100% or not at all. He truly believed “if you’re not first you’re last”. Jaydon loved wrestling and was lucky enough to find this passion early in life and has worked hard ever since, has never given up, and sacrificed so much to chase his dreams from then on with many achievements.

He also loved mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, paddle boarding, shopping for shoes and relentlessly pestering his friends and family. Jaydon had the gift of persuasion and could almost talk anyone into anything and come out on top; even coaxing his brother into loaning him $40 yet walking away with $60 after his brother initially told him no. When Jaydon had that mischievous look in his eye or a smirk on his face you knew there would be trouble to follow. His nephew idolized him, he was all the cousins favorite and he touched many lives while coaching. He loved his time spent in the wrestling room with kids of all ages, it was his passion helping them and loved helping the sport grow in any way he could. He was looked up to by so many.

Jaydon left a lasting impression on those who were lucky enough to know him. Jaydon had a fun loving spirit about him, he had a smile and charismatic personality that would light up a room. If you met Jaydon you didn’t forget him. The world will be a little darker without him but it helps to know heaven just got brighter. We know that we will be together again, until then, “shine bright like a diamond”.

The family would like to thank his ICU nurses, clergy and staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center especially Kristy and Pamela. Also a special thanks to the Weber County Sheriff’s office and the other first responders. Thank you isn’t nearly enough, and we will never be able to express our gratitude but we will be eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. Jaydon truly touched and impacted the lives of so many. Jaydon spent his life serving others, his legacy of service will live on by choosing to be an organ donor and fulfilling one last goal and dream.

Jaydon is survived by his parents: Ryan and Misti Rogers older brother: Payton David Rogers and nephew Brighton David Rogers; younger sister Taygon Jean Rogers; Grandparents: D. Alan and Jolene Rogers, and Dean S. and Glenda Birt; Great Grandmother Melba Wahlen.
