Jayme Frances Bergseng
March 22, 1983 ~ March 19, 2015
On Thursday, March 19, 2015 the world lost a star when we lost Jayme Bergseng.
Jayme was born on March 22, 1983 in Salmon, Idaho. She was effervescent, energetic, adventuresome, and creative. She was an entrepreneur, her mind bursting with fresh ideas from a prolific imagination. Jayme developed and owned Nanny On Skis , a business that combined child care and skiing instruction for vacationers and locals alike. Jayme possessed an exuberant, untamed spirit that could not be bridled. She was a natural athlete, excelling in soccer and skiing. Jayme was the Weber State University Ski Club President, a member of the Snow Basin Ski Team and competed in the USSA Intermountain Division. A 2001 graduate of Ogden High School, she attended Crested Butte Winter Tutorial Ski Academy and competed in the USSA Rocky Mountain Division. Jayme and her Dad, Jim, were allowed the exceptional opportunity to be forerunners of the 2002 winter Para-Olympics.
Jayme’s greatest and most enduring love was for her children, Ashton, Sydnee, and Beckham. Jayme brought light, laughter and a caring heart into the lives of her family and friends. However, Jayme also struggled with bipolar as well as fighting the demon of addiction. Three days before her 32 nd birthday she succumbed, ensnared in the deathtrap that holds hostage and destroys so many lives. Jayme leaves us without our bright star but with a brilliant and lasting legacy of memories. We hope that every day in heaven is a blue bird day with fresh powder ready to be skied.
In addition to her children, Jayme is survived by her husband, Jason Archuleta; loving parents, Jim and Pat Bergseng; her brother, Riley (Polly); grandfather, Francis Galland; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Jayme was loved by many Friends.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ Mass service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 12 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 495 N Harrison Blvd., Ogden. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
