Jayne Amelia Stout Kaiding

A Centenarian

Jayne was born in Yakima, Washington, on November 6, 1913.  At the time of her passing she was 100 years old, and having lived a long productive, and very happy life, she slipped quietly into the next life, again to be reunited with her husband Carl and her son Ken on October 15, 2014.

Few knew of her quiet and unassuming service to others.  Much of her life was spent in civic and church service.  She was a charitable person and, and gave of her time freely to assist the underprivileged, and those who were generally in need.  She aided many organizations financially such as the boys and girls club, assisted military serviceman by having them in her home for dinners during holiday celebrations, and chose to help needy families throughout her community.

When Jayne was a child her family relocated to California and lived in several communities such as Oakland, Sacramento, and Santa Cruz.  She lived in Riverside as a young adult, and later moved to Escondido where she met and married her late husband Carl.  Jayne was always active, and she and Carl loved to travel, hike, and sight see.

Jayne held several jobs, which included working in a candy store while attending college, and in a printing company.  During the war-years she began working at a radio station, and soon was able to be a talk-show host at the radio station.  She was employed as a secretary in the San Diego County School District offices.

After her retirement and the death of Carl, she moved to Ogden, Utah to enjoy another chapter in her life.  She loved to experience the changing of the seasons.  She loved the renewal that came in the spring, the brilliance of the fall colored leaves, and she was always infatuated with the snow.

We will miss our dear friend!

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Escondido, California.
