Jean Burnside McCafferty Johnson

Jean Burnside McCafferty Johnson, beloved member of the community, passed away on June 10, 2024, in Roy. She was born to Harry and Larue Burnside on August 30, 1936, in Fairview, Utah.

In her younger years, Jean graduated from North Sanpete High School and went on to lead a fulfilling career at Autoliv and the Department of Aging for Weber County. Her work not only showcased her talents but also her compassionate nature towards helping others.

Beyond her professional life, Jean found joy in numerous hobbies including sewing, embroidery, canning, cooking, solving puzzles, and spending quality time with her family. Her warmth and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her.

Jean is survived by her sons, Martin (Beth) McCafferty of Layton; Kenneth (Charlot) McCafferty of Ogden; Phillip McCafferty (Scott) of Roy; Patrick (Kim) McCafferty of Lincoln City, Oregon. She is also survived by a loving family including 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tom McCafferty; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; her parents; stepmom, Marvel; and brother, Larry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.  

Jean will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
