Jean Jennett Evans, 80, lost her fight with her third bout with cancer and passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009.
She was born January 29, 1929 in Carey, Idaho to John and Amy Peterson, the youngest of eight children.
Jean met the love of her life, Edmund Roger Evans, Jr. on October 6, 1956 and they were married a week later on October 13. The happy couple spent the next 49 years together. Jean and Roger traveled the world for 30 years with the U.S. Navy until retiring and settling down in Boise, Idaho in 1977.
Jean worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years, retiring at age 75. She was a life-long learner and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science from Boise State University at age 76. She was involved in her church, loved to travel and enjoyed doing arts and crafts.
Jean was preceded in death by her twin brother and six siblings, her parents, and her beloved husband.
She is survived by her three children, Travis R. (Deborah) Evans, Timothy R. Evans, Tracey R. (Dennis) Werre, 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and countless friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the West Haven Ward Chapel, 3628 South 2700 West, with Bishop William Snarr, officiating.
Friends may call Monday, November 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Tuesday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., at the church.
Jean will be laid to rest with her husband, Roger, at Boise State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd. on Wednesday, December 2nd at 1:00 p.m.
