CLINTON – Jean Snyder Isler passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the age of 86. She will be very much missed.
Born to Victor and Irene Snyder, she grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She played the mandolin, sang and yodeled at county fairs with her sister under the name Boots and Saddles.
She met Edward Isler when he was in the Navy. He likes to say he first fell in love with her through her letters, but all who knew her fell in love with her because of her happy and loving personality. She would always light up the room when she entered.
She was first and foremost a loving mother. She worked outside the house at Landis Insurance Agency in Pennsylvania, for Judge Cornaby at Layton Court, as Secretary of Clearfield Community Church for 11 years (she also served on numerous Boards there), as Visitation Co-Chairman of Ogden Ostomy Association and volunteered with her husband at Clearfield Senior Center for over 18 years.
She loved traveling (across the country, Hawaii, Bermuda), taking cruises, camping, mining opals & sapphires in Montana & Idaho, square dancing for many years, bingo, card games and dominoes.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Isler; her daughters: Celestine (Dewayne) Wolfe and Christine (Robert) Rebmann; 3 grandsons: Robert (Nicole) Rebmann and Jacob (Nancy) Rebmann, and Ayton (Amy) Wolfe-Hart; one granddaughter Sandy (Adam) Stack; 6 great-grandchildren: Brandi and Kyle Rebmann, Jaycee Nall and Cody Rebmann, and Jacob and Ryan Stack; and her sister Beatrice Wittel, still living in Pennsylvania.
The Memorial Service will be held Wednesday April 25 at 6 p.m. at Clearfield Community Church, 200 S. 500 E. Clearfield, UT.
