Jean Springer Manning 4/22/1923 - 2/25/2013

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed on February 22nd at the age of 89 to an eternal glorious reunion with her husband Ray Manning.. She was the third child born to John Springer and Eva Johnson April 22, 1923. She grew up in Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Utah during the Great Depression. . She graduated from Davis High School and liked to tell us about riding the Bamberger train to school from Bountiful. She worked as a telephone operator, a school lunch cook and she loved taking care of the plants while she was employed at a local nursery. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various callings throughout her life. Serving in the church library was her favorite.

It was after the war when Jean met Ray. He was driving a bus in Bountiful when she got on. They were married in the LDS Salt Lake Temple June 23, 1947, and they have been on a ride ever since. She loved Ray unconditionally through thick and thin and there was plenty of thin. We would often find them at the care center side by side still holding hands after 65 years of marriage. Jean was a devoted mother full of sass and lots of fun. She will be deeply missed.

Jean is survived by: children: Diane (Gary) Jacketta, Marsha (Cliff) Randle, Julie (Keith) Rydalch, and Mark (Windy) Manning; 20 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren; Sister Norma (Rod) Sorensen. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Jack Springer, sister, Marjorie Hughes, granddaughter Cindy Knighton and daughter-in-law Dora Ann Manning.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Inn at Barton Creek for the love and care of their Mother and Father.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11 a.m., at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 No. 400 E. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
