Jean Sanders

Jean left this life three weeks shy of her 94 th birthday. She was born on November 23, 1920 to William Reed Smith and Rose Ella Howard Smith in Bountiful, UT. She was the third of four children.

Jean married the love of her life, L. Dee Sanders, in the Salt Lake Temple October 24, 1945. They have three daughters: DeeAnn (Barry) Judd, Ella Jean (Deane) Smith and Marilyn (Ned) Ashby.

Jean attended Davis High School and the University of Utah where she earned degrees in Home Economics Education and Dietetics. She worked at the Dee Hospital and the Hill Air Force Base Hospital as a dietician. She spent the major part of her career teaching Home Economics at Central Davis Jr. High School.

She enjoyed traveling with her spouse to six of the world’s seven continents; she enjoyed spending time with many friends and foremost, her family. Jean loved her Heavenly Father and was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She leaves behind her daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center, 855 E. Mutton Hollow Rd. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Apple Tree Assisted Living for their love and care of our mother. We would also like to thank Tender Care Hospice.
