Jeanette Franson Frazier Sparrow
Jeanette Sparrow died at home on Saturday, July 16, 2011 of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 2, 1926 in Oakley, Utah to William S. and Ida Murl Franson. She attended public schools and graduated from South Summit High School in 1944.
On December 24, 1944, Jeanette married Ray T. Frazier in Oakley. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. To their marriage was born three children, Raelene, Lanet and Rick. They were later divorced in 1973.
Jeanette worked many years for Jimmy''s Flower Shop and in 1973 began a career with the Utah State Information System. She retired in 1991. That same year, Jeanette married the love of her life, Truman Sparrow. Although Truman passed away in 1995, they spent those four years traveling extensively and enjoyed life together.
Jeanette was active in the LDS Church where she served in many callings during her life including, a Church Service Mission at the Family History Center for many years. The calling she truly loved was leading the music at the McKay-Dee Hospital Sacrament Service for over 24 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She loved good music, art, and was a season ticket holder for the Utah Symphony. She enjoyed doing needlework of all kinds, and also loved to make homemade candy. She taught everyone that wanted to learn her crafts and shared her talents with many.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Raelene (Paul) Barrows, Clinton; Lanet (Keith) Nelson, Ogden; Rick (Lorrie) Frazier, Ogden; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Truman''s family, Judy (Mert) Loper, JoAnn Sparrow, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the McKay-Dee ER staff, and the ICU staff, especially, nurse Chris and the IMC staff for their loving and kind care. Also, thanks to Dr. Pittman, Dr. Anderson and the wonderful people at Inspiration Hospice who made Mom''s last days so comfortable.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21st at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Stake Center, 5640 South 850 East, with Bishop Clark Ulrich of the Pleasant Valley Third Ward, officiating.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. both at the Stake Center.
Interment, Oakley Cemetery.
