Jeanette Sato Yoshimura, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at McKay-Dee Hospital surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born January 22, 1938 in Brigham City, Utah to Shigeichi Sato and Aiko Tokita Sato. After farming in Brigham City, her parents decided to move to Idaho Falls, Idaho where she and her three younger siblings grew up and attended schools. Jeanette graduated from Bonneville High School and Brigham Young University.
On December 10, 1960, she married George Yoshimura in Ogden, Utah. After getting married and having three children, Jeanette decided to return to school at Weber State and obtain her nursing degree. Jeanette loved helping others as she worked over 30 years at McKay-Dee hospital mostly residing in the ICU unit. After retiring from McKay Dee, Jeanette enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren, watching them grow up, and attending their sporting events and dance recitals. She loved traveling with her family to Disneyland and Hawaii.
Jeanette is survived by her three children, Doug Yoshimura, Ross Yoshimura, both from Roy; and Dana (Robert) Miyawaki, West Point; grandchildren, Dakota Yoshimura, Roy, Megan Miyawaki, and Zoe Miyawaki, both from West Point. Survivors also include her siblings, Junior J. (Cecilia) Sato, of San Jose, California; and Robert K. Sato, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Yoshimura, parents, Shigeichi (Aiko) Sato, and sister, Kerry Ann Sato Hersley.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the Emergency, ICU, and 5th floor doctors, nurses, and aides at the McKay-Dee Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, Utah. Viewings will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. and also prior to the service on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
