Jeanne M. Manolis
OGDEN – Jeanne Marie Carney Manolis, 78, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at her home in Ogden.
She was born June 18, 1931 in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of James and Catherine Pryde Carney.
On December 6, 1952, Jeanne married George Manolis in the Bronx, New York. They had four children, two boys and two girls, and raised them in Long Island, New York.
They moved to California in 1971 and Jeanne worked for Sears for six years.
She was raised in the Catholic Church. In 1958, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she remained an active member for the rest of her life. George and Jeanne, with their four children, were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity in 1959.
Jeanne enjoyed writing poetry, loved crossword puzzles, her family, and visiting with her friends. She will be missed by family and friends from the Secret Cove Condos and the Harrison Regent.
Surviving are her husband George; two sons and two daughters, George Thomas Manolis, Danbury CT; James John Manolis, Ogden; Athena (Rich) Wangsgard, Layton; Christal (Greg) Clow, Las Vegas, NV; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Jeanne in death were her parents and 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
