Lou Jeanne D. Tait, 67, of Layton, died Monday, October 29, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born April 8, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Clyde and Lilly Sommers Downs.
Jeanne married DeRay Jones on December 12, 1957 in Ogden. They were later divorced. She married Thomas Tait on August 24, 1973 in Elko, Nevada.
She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1957. Upon retirement, she pursued her dreams by attending Weber State University. She received her associate degree in 2003 and her bachelor degree in 2007 from W.S.U.
Jeanne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was employed with the U.S. Forest Service and Hill Air Force Base as a civilian employee. In 1988, she relocated to Washington, D.C., with her husband and was employed by various military organizations involving Foreign Military Sales. She returned to Hill AFB in 1990. Upon her return she completed her career in Foreign Military Sales for the F-16''s. She retired in December of 1996.
Jeanne was a member and former president of the Soroptimist International Rocky Mountain Region, the Elks Lodge 2399 (Lake Havasu), and The American Contract Bridge League.
Surviving are her husband, Tom, of Layton; one son, Jerry (Heidi) Jones, St. George; two daughters, Brenda (Karl) Hagen, Sunset; Jana (Jim) Ferguson, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father Clyde, her mother Lilly, her brother Jerry and her daughter Kristina.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
She was passionate towards life and lived it to the fullest. Jeanne, I love you and you were my life and my world a" my soul mate is gone.
