Jeanne VaLois Roberts Hansen

Jeanne Roberts Hansen, 87, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.  She was born May 29, 1929, to Melford Augusta and Lois Delila Campbell Roberts in Afton, Wyoming.  The family moved to Ogden in 1943 and she graduated from Weber High School.

She married Benjamin Otto Garr on July 25, 1947 in Ogden.  Together they had four children and later divorced.  She married Glen D. Hansen on December 14, 1974 in Ogden. Glen passed away on November 29, 1991.  She met a special friend and enjoyed spending time with Norman “Gus” Brown until his passing on September 15, 2011.

Jeanne had a passion for golf and loved competing.  She was a member of Northern Utah Women’s Golf Association.  She enjoyed team play for Patio Springs and Royal Greens Golf Course.  She was the 1983 Riverside Golf Course Club Champion and got a hole-in-one at the Round Valley Golf Course.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Jeanne loved working in her yard and taking care of her flowers.  She was a member of the Footprinters Association, Roy Elks, and Eagles.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Brad (Cyndi) Garr, Ogden; daughters, Susan (Richard) Harding, Roy; Jan (Duke) Roane, Clinton; and Lisa (Mark) Pantone, Coronado, CA; 19 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren with one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Jacob Moses Pantone; and her siblings, Boyd (Mimi) Roberts, Melbourne (Althea) Roberts, Bernell (Helen) Roberts, Shirley (Gale) Haderlie and Marilyn (Dean) Wright.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
