Jeannette Elizabeth Robison Spencer
LAYTON-Jeannette Elizabeth Robison Spencer, 50, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and sister-in-law, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Davis Hospital, July 10, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Mark. J. Spencer for twenty-eight years. They were married December 30, 1986, in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was born July 30, 1964, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Dr. Richard and Carolyn Robison.
She believed her greatest achievement was her five accomplished children: Ronald Alex Spencer (Brittany), Provo; and her granddaughter, Annie Elizabeth Spencer; Danielle Jeannette Spencer, Provo; Nicolas Mark Spencer, Layton; Jacob Bennion Spencer, Layton (reports August 05, for LDS mission in Honduras); and Nathan McCann Spencer, Layton.
Jeannette had a remarkable academic and musical background. She graduated from Madison High School, in Rexburg, Idaho, with high honors, and was among the top three academically in her graduating class. After high school, she received a scholarship to Ricks College, in Rexburg, graduating with an associate degree. Her high academic performance earned her a scholarship to Utah State University, where she graduated cum laude in 1987, with a bachelor’s degree in English and French, as well as a secondary education teaching certificate. She was also recognized with membership in Phi Kappa Phi honor society, for academic achievement given to the highest ten-percent academically in her graduating class. It was at Utah State University that she met her husband, Mark. Together, they taught high school for two years at Fredonia High School, in Fredonia Arizona. After the birth of her first child, she devoted herself fully to her family.
For many years, Jeannette was plagued with severe health problems. Her faith in God never wavered and she remained a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. Her love and dedication to her family and God sustained her until the end. She leaves to her family an extraordinary example of love and integrity. Her greatest pride was her love for her family. She believed a celebration of her life could be seen in the accomplishments and character of her children. Her family was her life’s joy and priority.
In addition to her husband, children, and granddaughter, Jeannette is survived by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family services will be held through Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary in Layton, Utah.
