LAYTON a€" Jeffery Ronald Brereton, 52, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born October 30, 1957 in Provo, Utah the son of Ronald H. and Marylouise Ence Brereton.

Jeffery married Patricia Dunn on March 19, 1998 in Farmington, Utah.

He was a member of the LDS Church. Jeffery loved music, fishing, boating, cooking and playing his guitar.

Surviving are his wife Patricia, Layton; son Shawn, Layton; sweet little granddaughter Destiney, who he adored, parents, Ronald and Shirley Brereton, Marylouise Anderson, four sisters, Joni (John) Sayers, Altus, OK; JaLyn (Roger) Ward, Stockton, UT; Rebecca (Clayton) Taylor, Price, UT; and Amy Nofrey, Queen Creek, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his sister Jill Brereton and step-father, James S. Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
