Jeffrey Gardner, 63, of 1394 East 5850 South, died Sunday, July 31, 1988, at St. Benedict's Hospital of cancer.
He was born August 10, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of William and Margaret Crawford Gardner.
He married Iris Enid Claridge on December 15, 1947 in Frankfort, Germany.
He had lived in Ogden for the past 20 years. He was educated in Scotland, graduating from the Renfrew Technical College in Renfrew, Scotland.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He returned to the United States in 1950, serving at various military installations until 1960. Mr. Gardner had worked at Thiokol Chemical Corporation until 1963 and then joined the civil service and worked in administration at Fort Douglas and Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves and Military for 37 years. He was also a member of the Reserve Officers Association. He was active in the Ogden Philatelic Society and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Surviving are his widow of South Ogden and one daughter, Mrs. John A. (Carol June Dianne) Larson, West Valley City; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is one brother, Robert Gardner, Paisley, Scotland.
Public graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
There will be no public viewing.
Military honors will be accorded by the V.F.W.
