Jeffrey John Payne
Our dear son, brother, uncle and friend Jeffrey John, 47, passed away surrounded by his family on June 9, 2012 at McKay Dee Hospital from complications due to pneumonia.
Jeff was born August 10, 1964 in Ogden, Utah, to Thomas Roland and Marcelle Quayle Payne. He has one brother, Lynn, sister-in-law, Lynda, two nieces, Tracie and Amanda, and three nephews, Kelly, Chris and Nate.
When Jeff was born, his parents knew something was different with their son, but it was 14 years later when they discovered it was Prader Willi Syndrome. He was one of the first in Utah to be diagnosed with the syndrome.
He was raised in South Ogden and graduated from Canyon View School and LDS Seminary. He worked at Enabled Industries. He enjoyed participating in all events in the Special Olympics and won many medals and ribbons.
Everyone who knew Jeff always felt his genuine love and concern. He always had a great smile with a wink and a cute sense of humor.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Marcelle; brother, Lynn (Lynda) Payne; nephews, Kelly (Jennifer) Payne, Christopher (Kimberly) Payne, Nathan (Risha) Payne; nieces, Tracie (Eva) Pututau and Amanda (Ryan) Parent; great-nieces, Mayra, Addie, Katelynn, and Emma; and great-nephews, Tyler, Carter, Kaleb, Jacob, Isaac, Tyson, Jaeger, Gabe, and Logan (due in August).
His father preceded him in death 21 years ago. They have had a grand reunion.
We will miss you Jeff. You entered our lives and brought much love and taught us how to love, with patience, service and charity.
