CLINTON a€" Jeffrey Louis Speer, 52, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2008. He was born to Benjamin and Lydia Speer on July 22, 1955 in Ogden, Utah.

He attended school in Layton before graduating from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA.

Jeff''s Federal career of 26 years began at the Naval Torpedo Station in Keyport, WA. After working in the oil industry for a short time he resumed his Federal career and spent many years working as a mechanic, leader and supervisor at Hill AFB.

Jeff was a competitive avid golfer. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends, family, and especially his grandchildren.

He married Marianne Moon on October 19, 1983, and later divorced in 1993. He is survived by four children, Jennifer Huntington (Darrell), Eric (Pet), Jeff Jr, and Trenton. His six grandchildren are Jayslin, Felicity, Ryken, Cedric, Mercedes, and Jaden.

He later married Sissy Thornley on December 21, 1996 for a short period of time, but they remained lifelong friends and they were a couple at the time of his death.

He is also survived by five brothers, Mike of Poulsbo, WA; Ben (Diana) of Veneta, ORE; Robert (Marianne) of Las Vegas, NV; and Jack and Anthony of Layton.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Lydia Speer.

Jeff loved life to its fullest and lived to make people laugh. He touched the lives of everyone that had the honor of knowing him, and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Rosary service at 7 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. A food reception will be held following the interment at St. Rose of Lima Catholic, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton.
