Jeraldine “Jerry” VanWey Oliver
Jerry was born to Clyde and Hattie Michaelis VanWey November 20, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio. She passed away at home on Friday January 19, 2018. Jerry loved her family, loved to quilt and cross stitch baby blankets, she was a generous soul who performed numerous acts of kindness unanimously throughout her life. Her greatest joy in life, were her grandchildren. She loved them unconditionally and was there for them in every way. They were her joy and love and made her heart sing. Her wish was to leave them a legacy of love and kindness.
Jerry served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
She is survived by her daughter Claudia Dixon-Kunz, son Calvin Dixon, daughter Jan Nyholm,
grandchildren Kye Kunz, Keigunn Kunz, Christine Hall and Alicia Dysert, many nephews and nieces who she loved regardless of distance, sisters Polly Vinsant, Ellen Metzler and Bonita Offenberger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Calvin Dixon and Patrick Oliver her brothers Edward, Cecil and Paul VanWey and her sister Jean Harvey. Jerry loved her step-children and step- grandchildren as her own and kept them close in her heart and life.
Mom we love you and miss you! We know you are watching us carefully and guiding us with your unconditional love.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
